He Calls Us to a Life of Adventure. Are You Ready?

There seems to be a misconception in our culture, today, and maybe even among believers, themselves, that life as a Christian is boring–simply a list of dos and don’ts.

Can I tell you something? Life as a Christian is many things, but it is definitely not boring.

I have to admit that when I was younger, I often felt as though the Christian life was more about the things I should or shouldn’t do than anything else, and even though I had been serving in the church, and God was busy working in my life during those years, it wasn’t until I was about 30 years old that my faith really began to come alive, and I started to see and understand the awesomeness that is our God.

He calls us to a life of adventure, following and serving Him, and though it may be challenging (as well as exciting, worthwhile, and fulfilling), it is never boring.

Did you know that it is actually a lifelong process? This means that it’s okay if we don’t have everything figured out all at once. He takes us as we are, imperfections and all, and if we allow Him to, will transform us and our lives into something beautiful.

God wants to do big things in and through you and me. Things that we could not possibly accomplish on our own. He wants to involve us in His work, on this earth, for His glory.

The following Bible verse is one of my favorites:

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).

Did you catch that? He is capable of “immeasurably more than…we [can even] ask [for] or imagine ….” We are so limited in our abilities, people, but God is not. He has unlimited power!

He knows who you are–everything about you–and loves you anyway. Do you know Him? He wants to have a personal relationship with you.

Are you looking for purpose–something that will last beyond your lifetime on this earth?

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10 NIV).

God created you, and He created me, by His design and for a purpose. Doing life with Him every day is an adventure.
